Grow Some Food

After spending time with Michael Golubev the guy ,from 3Dponics.com, I learned that he ans his team have done an excellent job developing a cheap hydroponic system that can be used in the class room, using primarily 3D printed parts. They’ve made the parts available for anyone to print, if you don’t have a 3D printer or just want us to print them out for you let us know. We spoke to Michael about using Arduino to help monitor and adjust the system, for those week long breaks, and he was very interested. If there is interest we would be willing to put time into making sure the system last the whole school year.

Putting a small hydroponic system in your class room will give your students a much clearer appreciation for the food that magically arrives on their plate each night. Even if the tomatoes have been turned into ketchup. It doesn’t guarantee they’ll eat their vegetables, but when they have a hand in creating the food, they are more likely to eat it.
